POLICE in the Matabeleland North area have warned people to brand livestock following reports of another family missing 15 cows a day on their way to pasture.

Police spokesman Inspector Glory Banda said people should be aware that their animals were branded and guarded so that thieves would not be caught stealing.

He said people should see to it that cattle do not move near the road because they have the potential to cause an accident on the road.

“Uzulu is encouraged to see that his animals are legalized and that they are constantly being herded.

“People should also make sure that their animals do not move near the road or rail because they can cause an accident, a car crash or a train,” said Insp Banda Banda.

Insp Banda made the remarks after receiving a report from the police that a Jambezi family had 15 cattle stolen last week from the veld.

Inspector Banda revealed that 20-year-old Michael Ndlovu opened the cow and drove it to pastures where he left 25 but by the time he had gathered in the afternoon there were ten left.
