Legendary actor Israel Matseke-Zulu who recently had his leg amputated due to a struggle with gangrene has returned to the cinema.

Netflix announced that the seasoned actor is starring in a film titled ‘Amandla’ alongside Lemo Tsipa and Thabo Rametsi.

The film is directed by SA-born US-based producer/writer Nerina De Jager.

The Gomora star who played a gangster called Don on the telenovela recently went public with his amputated leg.

He celebrated his 46th birthday with family and close friends this past December and hid his leg.

A close source confirmed that he had an operation at a Sandton hospital in November.

Fans of the actor were worried about him since he opened about his struggle.

They were also worried that the actor wouldn’t be able to secure any roles since losing his leg.

This is because the actor struggled to get around on set and was using a wheelchair during his last scenes on Gomora.

He also revealed that he was using crutches weeks before he went to have his right leg amputated.

The star also told Sunday World that he was not ready to talk about his operation as yet and needed time to process what happened.

He revealed he was recovering from the surgery, and he is doing well at home.

Israel Matseke-Zulu’s Netflix movie ‘Amandla’ will be released on 21 January 2022.

According to Netflix the movie is about two brothers who separate because of crime.
