Award-winning gospel singer Dr Winnie Mashaba has given birth!

The star announced she gave birth to a baby girl last week after two miscarriages.

She told Drum Magazine:

“After two miscarriages, I gave everything to God.”

“Sometimes I joke and say maybe Modimo (God) knows if He gives me children now, I’m going to neglect the other responsibilities I have.”

Winnie announced the exciting news on Instagram, thanking fans for the well wishes during her pregnancy.

The Joang kapa Joang hitmaker revealed her precious cargo arrived on January 2.

“I was blessed with a gorgeous baby girl. Oh Lord, I thank you. Thanks to all who wished me well during my pregnancy.”

Winnie who has openly shared  her pregnancy with fans, has also motivated other women who were trying to conceive not to give up hope.

The star shocked Mzansi last month when she revealed that she fell pregnant after filing for divorce from her husband, Makgokgo Makgopa of 16 years.

City Press reported that the O Mohau Messiah hitmaker also dropped him from her management team.

She reportedly replaced him with Tswako Music and Projects, which is owned by Makgopa’s nephew, Khaitjadi.

Winnie declined to comment about her estranged husband when she was asked for a comment by the publication.

“I will never go to media to discuss the separation.”

“Even if I can get married again, two or five times, I will never go to the media, because I respect the family I am currently married in.”

“I don’t want to bring attention to them.”
