A WHITE man living in St Marys, Chitungwiza, this week burst into tears in front of Kwayedza claiming he had been laid to rest by Covid-19, which he said had left him paralyzed.

Wayne Steven (41), a tenant at 244 Ingwe Drive, St Marys, says he has a hard time making ends meet and is being treated at a local 2nd bar by cleaning and cooking rice at a low cost.

“In the years before the Covid-19, jobs were readily available and there were many helpers. These are things that are so difficult for everyone that you can’t find helpers. I don’t get the real rent, ”says Steven.

The man, who has never been married or had a child, says he studied until Form 4 which he came out with two papers for the O-Level exam.

Steven says he is an orphan and in his family he was born two by his brother who went to the United Kingdom and is unable to help him survive.

“Things are hard for me these days of Covid-19, and when you ask someone for help, you feel as if you were on a collision course.”

Steven says he hopes to get married but his problem is the lack of money for the wedding as he has no real job to do despite having girlfriends.

“Our problem with my brother started when we were living in Craneborne in Harare with our parents when they sold our house and started renting in the same area. My parents died and I was left homeless, and I am suffering like this, ”he says.

The man regrets spending time playing with the school which has led to him suffering from unemployment.

“If my brother had helped me, I would have been able to start a new era, and he would never have helped me with it,” says Steven, sighing in front of reporters.

He continues: “I have no brothers in this country, and I am left alone.”

He says that even though he is sick, he has no relative to talk to or help him and if he dies he will be buried by the State.

“God help me to earn money and get married so that I can have a family of my own. Sometimes that will help me,” says Steven.

Steven then asked for $ 1 from the press to buy alcohol.
