Uzalo’s “Sbu” Simphiwe Majozi Joins Durban Gen
Media personality and Uzalo actor Simphiwe Majozi has joined the cast of etv telenovela Durban Gen. Majozi, who stars as the highly entertaining Sbuda “Sbu” Mabhucado, joined the Stained Glass TV Production soapie and is already shooting.
Given that both Uzalo and Durban Gen are produced by Stained Glass TV Production, Sbu’s move to Durban Gen is not surprising. News of Majozi joining the Durban-based medical drama was announced by preeminent entertainment and celebrity commentator Phil Mphela.
Writing on social media platform Twitter, Mphela said

However, it is not clear if the talented actor and musician will be leaving his role at Uzalo to focus exclusively on Durban Gen.
Some fans reacted to the news by complaining that Uzalo and Durban Gen seem to use the same pool of actors. But, this is hardly surprising given that the same production company produces the two shows.
Others also congratulated Majozi on his latest role and expressed hope that his new role will be different from that of Sbu to allow the actor to show other sides of his acting repertoire. On Uzalo, Sbu is usually clowning around and is often used for comic relief. Fans are hoping that Sbu’s new role will be more serious.
