Pogba And Haaland Agent Mino Raiola Dies

Football super agent Mino Raiola  is no more.

He was 54.

Raiola was the agent for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and Borrusia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, among many other talented footballers.

Details of his death are still sketchy but reports are suggesting that the Italian suffered from an ‘ undisclosed illness’.

It is further reported that in January, Riola had to go for minor surgery, battling an undisclosed illness.

The football agent’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement released on Saturday.

Part of the statement from the family reads,

“Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it.

“Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.

“Mino’s mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion.”

Raiola’s death comes barely 48 hours after he was forced to issue a statement confirming that he was still alive after rumours of his death went viral on social media.

In dismissing the rumours, Raiola took to his Twitter page, where he wrote:

Current health status for the ones wondering: pissed off second time in 4 months they kill me. Seem also able to resuscitate.

According to DailyMailUK , Raiola is estimated by Forbes to have pocketed £62m this year from his transfer deals.

He is also known to have worked as an agent for Mario Balotelli, Marco Verratti, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

During the transfer move of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United, Raiola reportedly earned as much as £20 million.

Paul Pogba made a record-breaking fee of £89 million as he joined the Red Devils in 2016.

Prior to trying his luck in football, the mogul and famous football agent grew up on a rocky road where he used to work in a restaurant, selling pizza.
